Connecting a Custom Domain
Use your own domain (like yourbusiness.com) instead of your Webplo address.
From Preferences → Domain, choose Connect your own domain to use a name you already own. The section explains: “Use your own domain name (e.g. yourbusiness.com) instead of your Webplo address. Only one address can be active at a time.”
What you'll need
A domain you already own. Don't have one? You can buy one from providers like Namecheap, Google Domains, or GoDaddy.
The three steps
- Enter your domain — type the domain you own (e.g.
yourbusiness.comorshop.yourbusiness.com). - Point your domain to us — sign in to your DNS provider and add the A record Webplo shows you. Webplo checks automatically and reports “Looks great — your DNS is pointing to us” once it sees the change. DNS updates can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 48 hours.
- Activate — once verified, click Activate. Webplo connects the domain and installs a free SSL certificate (the padlock), which can take a few minutes.
When finished you'll see “Custom domain has been activated.” Your old Webplo address redirects to your new domain.
Managing or removing it
Once active, the page shows your domain with an Active badge plus Visit
site and Remove domain buttons. Removing it restores your .webplo.ai
address.
Only site owners can manage the custom domain.
