Google Maps
Get your business onto Google Maps so nearby customers can find it.
For business sites, open the Site tab and click Google Maps. Only owners can open it, and setting it up needs an active plan or trial. Without one, the page says “Google Maps setup needs a plan. You can choose one in Billing.” with a Subscribe link. Event pages do not have this row.
The page begins: “Customers nearby will see your business when they search on Google. It is free and takes about 5 minutes.”
Set it up
- Check Business name, Phone, Address and Website. They are filled in from your site. Edit any of them.
- Click Set up on Google. Google opens in a new tab so you can create your listing.
- Google mails a code to your address in 5 to 7 days. The page says: “Enter it at business.google.com, then confirm here.”
- When you have verified your business with Google, return and click I have verified my business.
While you wait, Open Google again reopens the Google tab. If you edit the details, a Save details button appears.
When it is done
The page shows You are on Google Maps with Verified, and “Customers can now find you when they search on Google.” Your details stay listed below.
Starting over
Click Start over, then confirm. “This forgets your listing so you can set it up again.”
